Patronymica Britannica (1860)

MAC QUEEN. A branch of the great clan Macdonald (Lords of the Isles.) This connection was recognised so lately as the year 1778, by Alexander, Lord Macdonald. The tribe or sub-clan were known as the clan Revan. In the early part of the XV. cent., Ehoderic Dliu llevan Mac Sweene, or Mac Queen, quitted the Isles on receiving the lands of Corrybrongh, &c., from which period the family have been annexed to the clan Chattan.
